     How MindWatchcame about

As you might ascertain from previous content of this website, I have found it to be of the greatest importance to focus on the subject of awareness when someone wants to make life-altering changes. For me, awareness is the key to all change, and so I was using a RubberBand for quite some time. But as with everything the unconscious state of forgetfulness cought up and perturbed my desire to be aware at all times.

I know that I am a bit neurotic when I am searching for answers. But I am certainly in good company with many of the great minds who have observed themselves in the attempt to grow. Gandhi observed his eating habits and effects of diet to consciousness, Emmerson observed breathing pattern to effect the focus of th mind and so on. Even in our modern times we find Dr. Demartini observing his level of attitude on an hourly basis, to study the results of consciousness .

So in a second attempt to be conscious of all my actions, thoughts and feelings, I have been using an egg-timer in my pocket for about 2 years. This timer was meant to alert me at irregular intervals to check my conscious state and to make a note of how I feel. I started out by writing these observations down and found that there was a range of seven different emotional areas of life, which I divided into 7 different colors.

Whenever my mind was trapped into one of the negative attributes like ego, carelessness, anger, scattered mind, excess, consumption or laziness I made a horizontal line in the relevant area of my life. Every time I was focused, on track, creative, determined, orderly and tidy or prosperous and content, I made a vertical line.

Each evening I converted the emotions of that day into a colourful mandala with exactly the same amount of coloured dots as I had produced with my conscious observation throughout the day. . Sometimes the Mandala turned out to be very dark red and filled with anger with brown and black spots representing depression and fear, and other times it was very light green which I had associated with learning, reading and study.

The purpose for this exercise was to be conscious about my emotions, actions and feelings so that I was able to direct them with my own free will.

I shared this idea with a few clients who regularly complained about depression and chronoic fatigue. When they used this method, it was impressive how fast they became aware of their negative self talk. One lady in particular was so shocked about the brown and black colours in her mandala that she immediately decided to bring more light green into her drawing, thus actively choosing to learn and read more.

She picked up a few books in the library about self development and soon realized that by reading she could improve her emotions and make a mark at the green colour. She actively worked to influence her mood chart and attitude. In a very short time, she had intensified her interest in observing her own emotions and seemed to like the fact that she could change the colors merely by choosing different activities. She then decided on another colour and make it more predominant on her mandala. She picked purple as she wanted to intensify her creativity. It wasn’t long before she saw great results from that, too. The amazing thing was that she not only enjoyed the process of getting the different colours into her drawings, but was impressed with her ability to influence her emotional state in the way she wanted. Another positive side effect was that she had more social activities through her new interests and activities.

When she came back to my office after two months, she introduced a group of ladies to me who had formed the “egg-timer club,” as they called themselves. She told me how she had mentioned this idea to one and it had spread to others.

As you can guess this was not the END, but a START to something much bigger. The idea of being conscious and having a choice about where the mind was roaming around was too tempting to give up on this idea. About 1 year later in June 2006 after almost 3 years of testing and pondering MindWatch™ became the older brother of the egg timer.

MindWatch was created in form of a cool looking wrist-watch which has a reminder settings, that you can adjust to the specific number of times you would like to be conscious during a day. It also has a memory divided into the 7 areas of life which allow you to store your emotions with positive and negative observations. The display with its bar graph then shows you like the mandala where you are strong and empowered and where you are disempowered and helps you to focus the mind towards your goals. MindWatch is like an "Emotional Guidance System" leading you into a state of awareness where conscious choices are possible.

Let’s assume you set the reminders to alert you from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. at 60 minute intervals. That means you are asked 12 times in a course of a day to enter into a conscious moment where you are asked to turn off the auto pilot to redirect your life towars success. 12 times you have the choice to live the life you want to live.

MindWatch™ is also a perfect tool to reprogram the subconscious mind.

Using this tool is a powerful way to become aware of the entire pattern that you live each day. These patterns have been at work for such a long time in your unconscious mind and only through awareness can they be brought forth into the conscious, creative mind where change is possible.

And is that not what we need when we are stuck in a situation we do not like?
